Shirley Hinson is a graduate of the College of Charleston and previously worked at the Lowcountry Graduate Center as the Director of Corporate and Community Relations. She served in elected office for 19 years with 11 years in the South Carolina House of Representatives and 8 years on the Berkeley County School Board. Hinson is a Board Member for Palmetto Scholars Academy, Carolina Youth Development Center and serves on several community advisory boards.
